I forgot to mention on the podcast how I learned of this fantastic term, which is that the British Deputy Ambassador Karen Pierce used it at the Security Council to describe Omar Bashir's response to the ICC. That is to say, Bashir's refusal to cooperate with an indictment on his government for genocide was "cocking a snook at the international community."

I think this proves beyond doubt that the British have the most hilarious colloquialisms on earth.

With their fearless leader Ethan Cheng gone on vacation, Joe, Roni and Alec soldier gamely on to deal with Obama’s inauguration, Bush’s legacy, Gaza’s dueling ceasefires, awkward silences and segues, Joe learning how to host (and post) a podcast on the fly, and whether Obama is actually President now.
